This Family Service talk with the aid of a knotted rope was to illustrate the fact that all of us have fears which need to be unravelled.  Hence within the talk two phrases were used, Fear Knot and Fear Not.  The former is what you experience within your stomach as fear takes a grip, quite literally “a fear knot”.  The latter is the term the angels used to allay the fears of Mary, Joseph and the shepherds.
