Changing Messy Church to Saturday morning at All Saints Church was a risk, involving extra effort by our helpers, but it worked out brilliantly – thank you. Six families came, four of which were new to Messy Church. Our theme was ‘It is good to say “Thank you”’, and we started with breakfast of cereals, toast with a variety of spreads, and tea and coffee. The Nutella seemed to be very popular, judging by the chocolatey cheeks!
Alan then gave an energetic illustrated talk thanking God for the wonderful world that He has engineered for us to live in, finishing with a song. The activities which followed were quite messy (how appropriate) with painting stones to make “Thank you” paperweights and creating a list of the foods which are produced locally, from Apples to Zucchinis. At the same time we painted three “Thank you” banners, one of which you may have seen in Budock Church, and one was given to All Saints Church to thank them for the very warm welcome and unstinting help which they gave us – thank you All Saints. Finally there were Parachute games, in the big space we had created by moving some of the chairs in the church.
The next Messy Church will be at All Saints Church on Saturday 12th November, 9.30-11.30 am.
